Amara Ayurveda Retreat is a small Ayurveda retreat in the Kovalam area of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital district of Kerala. Its villas are built around the idea of ecologically conscious living, and the setting looks out over the green slopes towards the Western Ghats. Every stay is a complete treatment package with medical supervision, daily therapies, vegetarian Ayurvedic food and yoga.

Location

The retreat is one of the easiest Ayurveda centres in Kerala to reach: Trivandrum International Airport is approximately 12 km away, around 30 minutes by car. For programmes of seven nights or longer, transfers from Trivandrum Airport are included free of charge. The well-known beach of Kovalam and the sights of Thiruvananthapuram are close by for short excursions on rest days.

Accommodation

Guests stay in the Ayur Earth villas, available in four variants: Ayur Earth Villa, Ayur Earth Ananta and the larger-specification Premium versions of both. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with free Wi-Fi and a smart TV, and herbal drinking water is provided in the room every day.

Ayurveda Treatments

The programme begins with a consultation with the resident Ayurveda doctor, which is included in the package. Based on this assessment, guests receive between 1.5 and 2 hours of Ayurveda treatments each day, together with basic internal herbal medicines. Meals are vegetarian and follow Ayurvedic principles to support the therapy. A Russian-speaking translator can be booked for consultations if required.
