Dr. Unni's Agastyaa Heritage Ayurvedic Hospital & Prittwi Resort combines a working Ayurvedic hospital with a comfortable seaside resort. The centre is run under the guidance of Dr. Unni and an international Swedish-Indian team, and it is aimed at guests who want a structured, medically supervised cure rather than a spa holiday. Medical staff are on hand around the clock.

Location

The resort stands in Avaduthura, a few minutes on foot from the well-known Lighthouse Beach of Kovalam on the Arabian Sea. Restaurants, cafés and the beach promenade are close by, yet the treatment areas are quiet. Trivandrum International Airport is approximately 15 km away, about a 30-minute drive; transfers are included for stays of 10 nights or longer.

Accommodation

Rooms are offered in three categories: Panoramic Sea View, Sea View and Garden View. Most rooms have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening onto a private balcony that faces either the ocean or the tropical garden. The main building has around 30 rooms and a lift, with a small guest house next door and a newer premium wing called Shrestha. Air-conditioning can be added on request.

Ayurveda Treatments

Each programme is designed individually after a detailed consultation at the start and reviewed again at the end of the stay, with doctor visits every day in between. Guests receive about 2.5 hours of treatment daily, for example for chronic complaints and burnout, recovery after surgery or cancer therapy, immunity, stress or weight management. Herbal remedies are freshly prepared each day, and the oils and medicines are made on site. The package also includes two acupuncture sessions and one facial or reflexology session. Meals are vegetarian and follow Ayurvedic dietary principles. A Russian-speaking translator can be arranged for consultations.
