Sitaram Beach Retreat

A Century of Ayurveda on a Quiet Shore

Sitaram Beach Retreat is the seaside healing centre of Sitaram Ayurveda, a family institution from Thrissur whose pharmacy dates back to 1921. The retreat focuses on authentic, doctor-led treatment programmes, and its herbal oils and medicines are produced by the group's own pharmacy. It is a place for guests who come for a real cure rather than a spa holiday.

Location

The retreat stands directly on the Arabian Sea at Thalikulam, close to Snehatheeram Beach on the calm Nattika coastline of Thrissur district in central Kerala. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, approx. 60 km or about 2 hours by car; return airport transfers are part of every package. The beach here is wide and uncrowded, and fishing villages and coconut groves surround the property.

Accommodation

Guests live in sea-facing cottages built of stone or wood in traditional Kerala style, many with open-to-sky showers, or in the more spacious wooden premium villas. Rooms have private bathrooms, and twin or double beds are available.

Ayurveda Treatments

Each stay begins with a detailed consultation with the resident vaidya, who prepares an individual plan and follows the guest throughout the course. The retreat offers three main programmes: Panchakarma, the classical five-step detox; rejuvenation therapy (Rasayana); and body purification. Packages run for 14, 21 or 28 nights and include accommodation, all treatments and medicines, full board and scheduled yoga sessions. Daily yoga and meditation are adapted to each guest's condition and offered in group or private classes. Meals at the Satvika restaurant are vegetarian and cooked fresh to the diet the doctor recommends, without fried or processed dishes.
