Day 1: Arrive in Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India, and check into your hotel. Witness the mesmerizing evening Ganga Aarti on the ghats of the sacred Ganges River.
Day 2: Varanasi Sightseeing. Take an early morning boat ride on the Ganges to experience the spiritual fervor of the city. After breakfast visit Sarnath. Sarnath is an ancient and sacred city located near Varanasi, India. It holds immense significance in Buddhism as it is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Known as the "Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta," this sermon marked the beginning of Buddha's teachings and the establishment of the Buddhist Sangha (community of monks).
Day 3: Varanasi to Bodhgaya. Depart for Bodhgaya, the place where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree, and other sacred sites associated with Buddha's enlightenment.
Day 4: Bodhgaya Sightseeing. Explore Bodhgaya's monasteries, stupas, and meditation centers. Visit Dungeshwari Cave, where Buddha practiced self-mortification before enlightenment.
Day 5: Bodhgaya to Rajgir & Nalanda. Proceed to Rajgir, where Buddha spent several years meditating and preaching. Visit Gridhakuta Hill, Venuvana Vihara, and other ancient Buddhist sites. Continue to Nalanda, once a renowned center of learning, and explore the ruins of Nalanda University.
Day 6: Nalanda to Vaishali & Kushinagar. Journey to Vaishali, where Buddha gave several important teachings. Explore sites like the Ananda Stupa, the place where Buddha announced his impending Nirvana. Continue to Kushinagar, where Buddha attained Parinirvana.
Day 7: Kushinagar Sightseeing. Visit Mahaparinirvana Temple, where Buddha's mortal remains were cremated. Explore other sacred sites in Kushinagar, reflecting on the impermanence of life.
Day 8: Kushinagar to Lumbini. Cross the border into Nepal and head to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Visit Maya Devi Temple and the sacred Lumbini Garden.
Day 9: Lumbini to Sravasti. Travel to Sravasti, where Buddha spent many rainy seasons and performed several miracles. Explore Jetavana Monastery, Anandabodhi Tree, and other significant sites.
Day 10: Sravasti to Lucknow. Bid farewell to the land of enlightenment as you depart from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Enjoy some leisure time exploring the city's cultural delights. Drive to airport and fly to Delhi or onward destination.
