Kalari Rasayana

A Retreat Dedicated to Ayurveda

Kalari Rasayana is the younger sister of the well-known Kalari Kovilakom and follows the same idea: a stay devoted entirely to Ayurveda, with treatment programmes run under the close supervision of experienced doctors. It is not a beach hotel but a calm, well-run place for a proper cure, where the whole day is organised around therapies, rest, yoga and meditation.

Location

The retreat lies in green countryside near Kollam, in southern Kerala. Its grounds cover about eight hectares with coconut groves on the shore of a lake, and the Arabian Sea is only about 3 km away. Trivandrum International Airport is approximately 60 km away, about one hour by road, and return transfers are included in the packages.

Accommodation

There are 22 suites: Rasayana Suites in the main two-storey building and Water Front Rasayana Suites closer to the water, some of them in separate villas. All rooms are spacious and modern, with air conditioning, a safe and a hairdryer. During the stay guests receive comfortable cotton clothing for the treatments.

Ayurveda Treatments

The resort has its own clinic with 11 treatment rooms. Programmes such as Manasanthi (stress relief), Panchakarma (general rejuvenation), Sthoulyagna Chikitsa (weight management) and Rasayana Chikitsa (anti-ageing) are designed for specific health goals and last from 14 nights. The doctors adjust the treatment plan as the cure progresses. Meals are vegetarian and prescribed individually; meat, coffee, alcohol and tobacco are not part of the stay, and children under 12 are not accommodated.
